Construction Line is used by the construction industry throughout the UK and has a database accessed by central government, local authorities and main contractors who are looking to work with professionals within the industry. ISO 9001 is the International Standard for Quality Management, first published in 1987 by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), it is one of the most commonly used management tools across the world. The current version of ISO 9001 is ISO 9001:2015 which includes more focus around customer satisfaction.

It is designed to help organisations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders, by having a framework in place that drives improvement while helping to ensure consistent quality in the provision of goods and/or services through the correct application of a quality management system. The benefits of using this system include increased operational efficiency, and higher levels of customer satisfaction due to having more efficient supply chains.

SMAS Worksafe is a member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) scheme. This platform helps us to effectively manage the Health and Safety aspects of our business by ensuring we have seamless approach to H&S, have real time reporting to identify issues, keep tabs on progress and ensures we keep up to date with the latest changes in policy and legislation.

UKCA CE BS EN 1090 Execution Class 3

In order to achieve certification, manufacturers, contractors, and fabricators must demonstrate compliance with UKCA BS EN 1090. All structural steel must be safety-critical, which means all manufacturing needs to be carried out in a controlled manner. At MK Steelworks Ltd, all our structural steel is to UKCA CE BS EN 1090 Execution Class 3 standard.

What is UKCA CE BS EN 1090 Execution Class 3?

The standard of product is set out in Execution Classes (EXCs). Execution Class 3 refers to supporting structures made up of steel up to strength class S700. Examples of this include bridges, and buildings with over 15 floors.

All welding activities must be controlled by a responsible welding coordinator. The competence must also be provided by means of a training certificate stating the training covered the standard requirements.
